Cyngor Cymuned Goetre Fawr Community Council

Defibrillators

The Community Council operates six Public Access Defibrillators for use in the event of sudden cardiac arrest.

They provide an audible guide on what to do and require no training to use.  They will automatically test the patient’s heart rhythm and will not ‘shock’ someone if they determine it is not required, so cannot be used inadvertently.

The units can be located (externally) at:

  • Goytre Village Hall
  • Llanover Village Hall (key pad code 2020)
  • Capel Ed Church
  • Goytre Wharf *
  • The Secret Garden *
  • The Star Inn *

Each unit is located in a wall mounted cover with a door which can be opened by turning the handle.  Those units marked with an * also have a key (number) pad on the front.  Apart from the unit at Llanover, there is no need to enter a code and the doors can be opened by simply pressing ‘c’ and then turning the handle.

Additional defibrillators can also be located at

  • The Goose and Cuckoo Public House
  • St Mary’s Church in Nantyderry
  • Little Mill Village Hall
